WHERE: The Hambidge Center (Rabun Gap, GA)
WHAT: Artists will live/work on Hambidge's 600 acre campus, share meals, create new artwork, experience cross-generational mentoring, and fire the Anagama wood kiln!
WHY: OYA Studio is a Black-owned clay studio + archival space developed with the goal of crafting equity in the ceramic arts. We host artist residencies, a permanent collection, exhibition opportunities, and creative networking events. Our vision is to become an international beacon of support for Black ceramicists and caretaker of the largest collection of artworks by Black artists.
WHO: A cohort of Black ceramic artists spanning four generations has been invited.

EXPENSES: Residency fee ($500/artist), food ($30/artist per day), firing fee ($125/artist), wood ($2,100), fire master travel + stipend ($1,000). We expect a minimum of sixteen ceramic artists to attend.
